DJ Yves P. is of Belgian origin and has lived in France for more than 20 years.
At a very young age, he discovered the ‘new beat’ sound on the radio, while growing up in a world of varied and popular music. From the age of 17, he started going out to Belgian clubs, notably Extreme for a few years.
He bought his first vinyl records at 19 and learned to mix on his own on old Technics family turntables. While studying at university, he saved up to patiently build his record collection and buy his first pair of MK2s.
Along the way, he met CP, who would go on to make a name for himself with his duo ‘Pole Folder & CP’ and the famous Apollo Vibes on Bedrock.
During these years, influenced by the British generation of djs like Sasha and John Digweed, Yves P. made mixtapes, created series of CDs and podcasts for his friends. Depending on his contacts, he occasionally mixes in a number of bars and nightclubs in Belgium, France and even once in Ibiza.
He has seen the success of legendary Belgian clubs such as La Bush and Pulse Factory.
He also worked as a general DJ for weddings for over 14 years in France and Belgium, a real school for learning how to manage a dance floor!
He followed the technological evolution of digital formats as vinyl shops closed one after the other, but the passion remained the same for this bewitching music and the long sets of legendary djs like Hernan Cattaneo amongst others.
